South Warren Snowmobile Club News
We wanted to give everyone a heads up that our friends at Ciro’s Restaurant in Lake Luzerne are open again!!!! Brothers Mike and Tommy Russell have picked up the reins and are continuing the legacy that their late parents, Big Mike and Ginny, started a long time ago. They opened up a couple of Thursday’s ago, and my wife and I were fortunate enough to be one of the first customers through the door! Everything was fantastic and it was very nice to be back. I honestly thought we would never have the option of going there under the Russell family ownership again. It’s fantastic news that we can! I know Big Mike and Ginny are smiling down from above…
Mikey and Tommy are having a Grand Re-opening, Customer Appreciation Party, this Friday June 12, featuring a local band called “Against the Grayne”. They will be playing from 6-10 PM. There will also be food and drink specials, in addition to the music. Please try and stop in to help support Mike and Tom as well as the memory of Big Mike and Ginny. All the Russell’s were and still are great supporters of the South Warren Club, as well as snowmobiling in general. Actually, to correct myself, they supported all causes, and were happy to do so! To say they are missed would be a gross understatement on my part.
The Russell brothers have some great plans for the upcoming Summer too. There will be a Sunday Patio Party that will start in July, starting mid afternoon and running into the early evening. Jukebox Jim will be the host with the most for these Sunday events. We’ve attended a few of these and they rock, rain or shine. It’s a great way to wind up a weekend.
Monday’s will be “Tap Takeover Night”. If you like locally brewed beer, then this your night! There will be a different craft beer on special every Monday.
Thursday’s will feature ½ price appetizers, served at the bar.
Friday and Saturday nights bring a promo I never heard of, but it sounds very interesting, “Reverse Happy Hour”. It will run from 8-10 PM instead of the traditional early bird hours. Why not??!!
This all sounds like the making of a great summer season at Ciro’s Restaurant on State Route 9N in Luzerne. For more info or reservations, call 518-696-2556.
From all of us at the SWSC, we wish the Russell Family and their staff the best of luck and a very successful endeavor. We will support you every way possible.
I’m also happy to report that we gave away two scholarships this year from the “Ginny Russell Award for Excellence and Achievement” scholarship fund. This years winners were very deserving, Cheyenne Gebo and Robert Sehlmeyer, Jr. Judging from their applications, they both will make us all very proud in the future. Congratulations and best wishes to the both of you.
I hope everyone has a great summer and I’m looking forward to seeing you all out on the trails this winter. The leaves will start changing colors in about two months!!!
